Camino Frances - Sarria to Santiago - Day 10

Lavacolla to Santiago

semi-overcast 26 °C

10km. 27k steps

We arrived! By 12:30, we arrived in Santiago, checked into our accommodation and received our Compostela. This blog is late because we just finished watching the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

We started in Lavacolla, near the airport, with 10.3km to go. Here's the 10k marker. For the next few kms, we saw that the markers had been pried out an stolen. Typical vandalism of tourist spots - always disappointing, but not surprising.

Here are a few sights along the way, including Steve as a cowboy 😁

An homage to Pulp Fiction, cool sand mosaics, bagpipers, and other sights in Santiago.

As we approached Santiago, we were interviewed for about 10 minutes for an Instagram blog. We realized afterward that we should have asked the name of the blog 🫤.

I like the inscription on the sidewalk: "Europe was made on the pilgrim road to Compostela" - it's cool to have been a part of it..

And here we are, above on the Monte de Gozo, pointing to Santiago.
